Meet Betelgeuse...my father's Jacob ram. He and his family help provide us with wonderful colored and white wool. The Jacob sheep is an ancient breed and gets its name from the story in the Bible about Jacob and his father-in-law, Laban. Check out the book of Genesis. You will notice that Betelgeuse has four horns...that's right, four. Jacob's are one of the breeds which are polycerate, meany "many horned".
Well, TNNA in Columbus was a blast! I was once again able to rub elbows with Doris Chan, Vashti Braha, Drew Emborsky, Marty Miller and Jane Schwartz and her daughter Amy. Marty and Jane were at TNNA to launch their new company,Emerald Isle Designs. They reported that they had a really good show, so watch your LYS for their designs! I also got a chance to say hello to Marcy Smith, new editor of Interweave Crochet. Click on any of the links to learn more about them!
Look at all the pretty yarns! These were new yarns that several manufacturers displayed with little snippets for us to take. There was a book with the info on all the yarns and tape was provided so you could stick the snippet in the book for later reference. Pictures copyright 2009 www.crochetrenee.com

Here I am standing at the entrance to the exhibit hall. There was an overwhelming number of vendors; essentially EVERY yarn manufacturer, button/closure manufacturers and needlepoint vendors as well.
This was my first chance to meet Ellen Gormley. If you are a crochet afficianado, you would know that she won the Flamie award from the Crochet Liberation Front for Favorite Home Decor Designer. She is also a fabulous designer of crochet wearables!
